    Tennis Court FAQs

What are your outdoor tennis courts made from?

Our outdoor tennis courts are made from high-quality materials, with our primary surface of choice being macadam. Macadam is a cost-effective option, providing a durable and smooth playing surface that is well-suited for tennis and hard courts. It offers excellent traction and is resistant to wear and tear, making it ideal for outdoor use.
Often the asphalt surface is painted with acrylic to prevent the lines from lifting.

How often should I resurface my outdoor tennis courts?

On average, an outdoor tennis court should be resurfaced every 4 to 8 years, though the frequency of resurfacing depends on various factors, such as usage, climate conditions, and maintenance practices.

The amount of usage the court receives plays a significant role in the resurfacing schedule. Courts that experience heavy usage, such as those in tennis clubs or public facilities, may require more frequent resurfacing compared to courts with lighter usage.

How do I know if my outdoor tennis court requires resurfacing?

Signs that indicate your outdoor tennis court needs resurfacing include extensive cracking, surface deterioration, loss of traction, and inconsistent ball bounce. If you notice these signs or if the court has become worn down and faded, it is likely time to consider resurfacing.

How can I protect my outdoor tennis court from weather damage?

To extend the lifespan of your outdoor tennis court surface, it’s important to implement proper maintenance practices and take proactive measures. Here are some effective ways to enhance the longevity of your tennis court:

    • Ensure the court remains clear of debris, including leaves and pebbles.
    • Follow a routine maintenance schedule recommended by the court manufacturer. This may include power washing and resealing.
    • Ensure that your tennis court has effective drainage systems in place to prevent water from pooling or causing damage.
    • Promptly address any cracks, fissures, or damages on the surface to prevent them from spreading or worsening. Small cracks can be repaired using suitable crack fillers or patching materials. Larger damages may require professional resurfacing or repair.
    • Trim any overhanging branches or vegetation near the court to prevent falling leaves, sap, or other debris from accumulating on the surface.
    • Schedule professional resurfacing when the surface shows signs of significant wear or has reached the recommended lifespan. Professional resurfacing ensures proper preparation, application of quality materials, and a smooth, durable playing surface.

Do you offer court cleaning and treatment, and if so how much do you charge?

We don’t currently offer court cleaning or surface treatment services ourselves. However, we strongly recommend regular cleaning as it helps reduce the build-up of moss and algae, especially in shaded or damp areas where moss is more likely to grow. Keeping the court surface clean not only improves its appearance but also extends its lifespan and maintains safe playing conditions.
